Congratulations to CODE NAME: B.E.A.S.T. Initiative! They are this year’s recipient of our Making New Memories Scholarship.
Code Name: B.E.A.S.T. Initiative is a youth gaming and esports exploration program that offers youth in grades 6 through 12 some hands-on STEM/STEAM learning experiences that help them become more familiar with the college and career opportunities in the gaming and esports industry. Their mission is to bring the community together through gaming, and they do this through hosting community gaming nights, tournaments, inviting the community to play with them during their live streams on Twitch, educate youth and adults about the esports space and current updates, and traveling with our Youth Leadership Team to various gaming lounges and events.
We look forward to watching this program grow in the future and continue to provide a safe, educational space for our youth to explore this passion.

Congratulations to Keystone Christian Academy Middle School Scholars! They received this year’s Making New Memories Scholarship. An enrichment curriculum entitled Be Your Own Boss was purchased. It was developed by dynamic instructor Tavon Parker founder of The Advantage Program. The course centered on 5 separate modules focusing on business entrepreneurship. The culmination of the program had the students create a power point Shark Tank presentation to a panel of judges where the students hoped to win investors. Congratulations to the 1st place participant! It was a room filled with success as all of the students were impressive!

Congratulations to York Starz Cheerleading!
They are the recipients of our Making New Memories 2022 scholarship. Under the direction of LaStacia Johnson and Pam Woodard and housed at Voni Grimes gym this newly formed team has shown great dedication by working hard and winning a first place position at their very first competition! We can’t wait to see what the future brings for these very enterprising young members. We are happy to be able to cheer them on!

Congratulations to Pedal 4 Peace and our 2021 Making New Memories Scholarship recipients. These young men qualified for the USA BMX Grand Nationals in Tulsa, Ok. They competed with the best in the world! Thank you to Brandt Kingsley who’s mentorship and dedication truly allowed our York competitors to shine! We wish them continued success knowing that it’s the journey that makes them all winners!
